Design & Usability
When it comes to online dating, CougarLife is an okay option. It’s got a decent design and usability but could use some improvements. The colors are mostly muted blues and greys which give the site a mature feel, although I’m not sure if that was intentional or not!
The navigation bar at the top of the page makes it easy to find what you’re looking for – from profiles to messages – without having too much clutter on each page. However, there aren’t any fancy features like swiping left/right so don’t expect anything groundbreaking here in terms of user experience (UX).
As far as usability goes, CougarLife does have its upsides; setting up your profile takes no time at all and once you’ve done that you can start browsing other users’ profiles with ease. You also get access to basic messaging functions such as sending text-based messages back-and-forth between members free of charge which is nice since most sites make this feature premium only these days. That said though there isn’t really anything special about how they implemented their chat system – nothing unique or exciting compared with other sites out there anyway…so just be aware of that before getting too excited!
If you do decide upgrade your account by purchasing one of their paid subscriptions then UI improvements become available such as being able to see who has viewed your profile recently plus additional search filters when searching through potential matches etc., so definitely worth considering if those things appeal more than saving money upfront by sticking with the free version alone…all depends on what kind off dating experience ya want y’know? All in all though my verdict would be: meh…it’s alright but probably won’t blow anyone away either way – take it or leave it basically 😉
